The Dream

Owners Matt and Sandy McMerty have been searching... looking for something that could be special enough to support a BIG idea. Their dream is to establish a business that could support a successful working environment for their son, who has Down syndrome, and others in the community with unique talents. So, along with their three kids, they took a deep breath and landed at the Library... in the midst of books, coffee, and the small start of a BIG dream.

The Gifted Bean Coffee House, where we believe … Every "Bean" is Special. "We truly believe this is a small start to our big dream," say owners Matt and Sandy McMerty. "Stop in and say hi. Learn more about our story. We love serving coffee to the city that loves to drink it."

Food and Drink Offerings

The Gifted Bean Coffee House serves up coffee and specialty coffee drinks, teas, and smoothies along with hot and cold sandwiches, baked goods, and sweet treats. Catering services are also available with a 48-hour notice for meetings and special events.

Features

Warm conversation, free Wi-Fi, and a friendly atmosphere await those who discover this coffee shop, tucked away like a good book in the Library. Visitors can often be found enjoying a tasty drink while playing one of the many games available in the shop. A free lending library also exists in the shop, where a small donation can land you a new book to read while enjoying your cup of coffee and to take home as your own.
