Notary public services are offered free of charge at the library. A notary is available during most of our open hours. Call the Adult Information Desk to confirm availability.
Notary Guidelines:
- Bring a photo ID for all document signers.
- Complete all documents except for the signature and date fields. Signers must sign the document in front of the notary.
- Bring disinterested witnesses (people who have no stake in the outcome of the document) if the document requires witness signatures in addition to the notary.
Notaries public are governed by North Dakota law, with commissions issued by the North Dakota Secretary of State, and are required to obey all laws and guidance governing notaries public in North Dakota. Learn more about how to get a document notarized.
