Bismarck City offices and the landfill will be closed on Monday, September 1st for the Labor Day holiday and there will be no garbage collection or curbside recycling collection (gold route).
Holiday Collection for Garbage and Curbside Recycling.
- Monday, September 1st, no Garbage or Recycling Collection.
- The Monday through Thursday routes will be delayed by one day all week. (Example: Monday’s route will be picked up Tuesday, Tuesday’s route will be picked up Wednesday, etc.).
- Garbage and Recycling must be set out by 6:00 a.m. on collection day and may be set out the evening before collection.
- Crews will not be dispatched to return to an address where items were not out in time for the initial collection.

Free Landfill Disposal for Bismarck Residents
Free Landfill Disposal, including household hazardous waste and electronics, for Bismarck Residents is the week of September 15-20. There is a cost to dispose of tires. Bismarck residents who present their most recent City of Bismarck utility bill or valid driver’s license showing a Bismarck address will have free disposal September 15-20.
