The future of Bismarck’s beloved 4th of July Celebration remains uncertain due to logistical challenges created by ongoing construction on the Capitol grounds. As a cherished annual tradition, the event’s continued success relies on a location that can accommodate the community and provide a seamless experience for all attendees.
The Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra (BMSO), which has proudly hosted the event for many years, has engaged a committee of community leaders, facilitated by City Administrator Jason Tomanek. This dedicated committee is actively exploring alternative locations, evaluating the feasibility of the Capitol grounds, and reimagining key aspects of the event to ensure the best possible Independence Day experience for Bismarck residents for years to come.
“BMSO has been honored to bring this celebration to the community, and we are committed to ensuring its continued success,” said Mike Gardner, Executive Director of BMSO. “We appreciate the support of local leaders who are stepping up to help us find the best path forward.”
The review process remains ongoing, and updates will be shared as decisions are made. The committee remains dedicated to preserving and enhancing this cherished event for future generations.
