[ARCHIVED] Tornado Watch - Potential Use of Storm Report Survey

QR Code_Storm Report Survey

Attention Bismarck Area Residents:  This is a preparedness message as a result of the current "tornado watch" issued by the National Weather Service, which includes the Bismarck area.   In the event there would be impact to Bismarck, you’re invited to use the storm report survey tool to provide an estimate of impact  at your location.  In the event of storm impact, please monitor local media and the National Weather Service, and wait until conditions are deemed safe prior to use of the storm report survey.

If we have an actual significant storm event, step one is to call 9-1-1 to report any immediate need for emergency response for the protection of life prior to using the storm report survey. The intent of the storm report survey is limited in purpose to follow-up planning for potential recovery efforts at the community level.

Damage level terminology and definitions are included within the storm report survey. You will notice the definition of "light" damage is relative to the extent of damage a strong tornado is capable of causing.

Unfortunately, city staff cannot provide assistance in using the survey tool at this time.   If you have difficulty, please discontinue use of the storm report survey tool.
