[ARCHIVED] Celebrating 50 Years of the Downtowners Street Fair With “New” Activities Sept 15-16

The 50th Annual Downtowners Street Fair presented by Bobcat kicks off September 15-16 in Downtown Bismarck. Local, regional, and national artists, crafters, and food vendors will line the streets of Downtown Bismarck for two days celebrating Bismarck’s biggest reunion. To celebrate 50 years, the Classic Car Show presented by Basin Electric Power Co-op will return! Find it at its historic location on 5th and Broadway. New also, the Bismarck Larks Funatics will be bringing a beer garden to the show, also at 5th and Broadway. A 50/50 raffle has also been added to the event, supporting the Downtown Bismarck Community Foundation 501c3. Returning is the “Buskers Corner” featuring local musicians at 4th and Broadway. The Bismarck Police Department Community Policing Division will be at Street Fair, engaging with the public. The Burleigh County Sheriff's Department will also be at the show with policing equipment, celebrating 150 years of service to the county. With the new route, Bismarck Marathon runners are encouraged to join in on the Street Fair fun. Crazy Days is also back! Our downtown businesses will be celebrating 50 years of Street Fair with sales, deals, and specials. The Downtowners Street Fair is one of the longest running Street Fairs in the state and brings tens of thousands to the community for the two day event.

The Street Fair mobile app will be live Wednesday, September 13. Use it in a browser to get all the vendor information, locations, create a favorites list, and view other pertinent information. A map will also be available at www.downtownbismarck.com and at the Info Booth at 4th and Broadway.

Various local service clubs, non-profits, boy scout troops, churches, school groups and community organizations have booths in this year’s Street Fair, raising funds for their various causes and

organizations. This event is a fundraiser for the Downtowners’ non-profit 501c6 organization that promotes revitalization in the downtown area, as well as a fundraiser for a number of different local

non-profits and service organizations. Patrons are encouraged to stop in local Downtown businesses while at the Street Fair and see all Downtown has to offer year-round.

Hours for the 50th Downtowners Street Fair are Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Find the vendor map and listings starting Wednesday at www.downtownbismarck.com.
