Bismarck Mayor Mike Schmitz is looking for candidates interested in serving on the Vision Fund Committee. This volunteer committee has one open position for an unexpired term that expires at the end of December 2024.
Interested applicants should complete an online application form describing their qualifications, background and why they would like to serve on the committee. The application form may be found on the City of Bismarck website.
The deadline for applications to be submitted is 11:59 PM on Sunday, August 6, 2023. It is anticipated that the new committee member will be announced at the August 22, 2023, Bismarck City Commission meeting.
The Vision Fund Committee aids businesses that desire to expand or locate in the Bismarck region. The purpose of this fund is to encourage and assist in developing employment opportunities in the region:
- Creating new jobs
- Expanding the regional tax base
- Increasing Capital investment
- Improving the entrepreneurial climate of the region
- Expanding the financial base of the region
Funds available through the Vision Fund may be used to provide temporary or permanent financing of any cost related to the relocation and/or establishment of a new business within the Region or the expansion of an existing business into new products, services or markets. The funds will not be available as a substitute for venture capital or to restructure existing debt or save existing jobs.
