Mills Avenue will be closed to nonessential traffic for the construction of a levee from Traynor Lane to east of the causeway to Galleon Place until further notice. Residents wanting access to the Fox Island / Harbor Drive area should use Burleigh Avenue to Tavis Road to Larson Road to Whisper Drive to Harbor Drive. Residents wanting access to the Southport area should use Riverwood Drive from Washington Street. Access will be maintained for local residents. Public not having a legitimate reason for being in this area will not be allowed access. Large numbers of trucks will be in the area hauling material necessary to build the levee.
