Jannelle Combs has been selected by the Bismarck City Commission to serve as Bismarck’s City Attorney. Combs was one of five candidates interviewed for the position. She is a graduate of the University of North Dakota Law school and obtained her Juris Doctor degree with Distinction in May 1999. Combs brings nearly 19 years of legal experience in both public and private practice to the position. As City Attorney, Combs will provide legal services to the City Commission, internal city departments and advisory committees, and interpret ordinances and regulations for citizens and business.
Combs said, “I’m excited to serve Bismarck as its next City Attorney and for the opportunity to work with a city as progressive as Bismarck. I look forward to doing my part in helping the city grow and flourish. I appreciate the confidence of the City Commission in my abilities and the opportunity to serve as Bismarck's next City Attorney.”

Combs will start May 21 and will replace City Attorney Charlie Whitman who announced his forthcoming retirement.
