[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department responds to fire at 1609 East C Ave.

At 7:14 PM, July 2, the Bismarck Fire Department responded to a report of smoke and flames coming from the residence at 1609 E. C Ave.  Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage area on the West side of the building. Firefighters encountered fire conditions at the back of the residence as well.  Fire crews attacked the fire from the front of the bldg. as well as the back.  Together the crews were able to knock down a good portion of the fire and keep it from damaging too much of the inside of the residence.


Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage with slight damage to the interior.  Crews remained on scene to check for remaining embers and hotspots.


No one was in the building at the time of the fire and no one was injured. No damage estimate has been made at this time but damage to the building is expected to be at least $50,000.00 and the damage to content is expected to be at least $30,000.00.
