[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department responds to mobile home fire.


At 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 7, 2017, the Bismarck Fire Department responded to a report of a mobile home fire at 1119 University Drive, #108.

The first arriving officer gave an initial report of a residential structure that had smoke and fire showing from the backside. It was confirmed that all occupants were out of the home. The first fire crew on scene advanced a single hose line to the back of the structure and the fire was extinguished within a few minutes. Additional arriving fire engines provided a second hose line, water supply and ventilation.

The home suffered extensive fire damage to the rear bedroom and heavy smoke and heat damage to the rest of the interior. It appears the home is a total loss. 16 fire personnel responded to the fire with 4 fire engines, 1 rescue truck and 1 Command vehicle.

The fire has been ruled accidental in nature. The cause of the fire has been determined to be electrical in nature.
 
One occupant was transported to the hospital to be evaluated for a burn to his foot.
