At 7:54 AM on Friday, July 31st, 2015, the Bismarck Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in an apartment on the 100 block of East Indiana Avenue. Enroute crews were notified that the fire was out. On arrival, it was found that there had been a fire on the stove which had done minor damage to the vent and cabinets above the stove. The cause of the fire was accidental. The tenant of the involved unit was apparently sleeping and woke up to find the fire. He extinguished it himself after calling 911.
There were no injuries, but the tenant was checked for smoke inhalation. The building was turned over to the owner and tenants. Preliminary fire loss estimate to the building and contents is $2500.
