At about 6:10 PM on Wednesday, April 15, the Bismarck Fire Department responded to a report of smoke and fire coming from the roof of a 3 unit apartment building at 2100 E Rosser Ave. The First arriving crew gave an initial report of fire showing and set up search and rescue teams along with fire attack. Search confirmed that there was no one inside the structure. Firefighters ripped down the sheet rock ceiling to expose the fire and quickly distinguished the fire. Fire crews ventilated smoke out of the structure, the area of damage was limited to the attic and the apartment’s second level. No persons were injured in this fire.
Approximate estimate of fire and smoke damage is $40,000. Occupants of all three units were displaced due to smoke and fire damage, these occupants were assisted by the Fire Department Chaplain and Red Cross. Other agencies assisting were Bismarck Police, Bismarck Rural Fire Department and Montana Dakota Utilities.
