The Burleigh County State’s Attorney office has informed the Bismarck Police Department that Officer Brad Jerome was justified in his use of force regarding the shooting of Steven G. Bannister on July 8, 2011. Bannister is accused of murder for shooting Bismarck Police Sergeant Steven Kenner during a domestic violence incident.
Officer Jerome has been an officer of the Bismarck Police Department since November 2008. He was placed on administrative leave and restricted duty during the investigation into this incident as is standard department policy. He has returned to his regular duty assignment.
