[ARCHIVED] City of Bismarck Reminds Residents and Businesses About Advertising in the Right of Way

Advertising is displayed in city boulevards around a traffic light.

The City of Bismarck's Engineering department would like to remind residents and businesses about advertising restrictions in the right of way. Ensuring that boulevards are free from obstructions is crucial for the safety and convenience of all community members.

Unauthorized advertising in the public right of way is prohibited and can potentially pose hazards to pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. The right of way is generally described as the area from back of sidewalk on one side of the street to the back on the opposite side. The right of way includes the grassed boulevard typically located between the sidewalk and the curb.

The City of Bismarck encourages all citizens to report suspected unauthorized advertising in the right of way. By working together, we can maintain a safe and accessible environment for all.

How to Report Obstructions Online

Residents and businesses can report advertising in the right of way online through the City of Bismarck's website. Visit the "Report a Concern" section, fill out the form with the necessary details and the appropriate department will address the issue.
