At approximately 7:51 AM on November 9, 2023, Central Dakota Communications Center received a call for fire at a trailer home at 1119 University Dr. Bismarck Fire Department fire crews were dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at approximately 7:54 AM to find a single-wide trailer home with some flame and light smoke showing, and the occupants evacuated. The engine crew spoke with the homeowner who stated that everyone was out and that the fire was in the kitchen on the stovetop. When firefighters entered the building, they found a small amount of fire involving an kitchen appliance on the stovetop, and the wall above the stove. Firefighters were able to put out the fire with a handheld extinguisher. Firefighters then conducted an overhaul to find any remaining smoldering materials.
No injuries were reported to the building occupants or firefighters.
Fire crews left the scene at 8:36 AM. Fire damage was contained to the area of origin. The occupants of the home have been temporarily displaced until fire damage to a kitchen wall can be repaired. The cause of the fire was accidental.
