[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department responds to house fire


At 1:27 AM on Friday, October 06, 2017, the Bismarck Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire at 1410 E Boulevard Ave.

While enroute to the scene the fire department was notified that the lone occupant was out of the house and there was no one else inside. Upon arrival fire crews had fire coming from multiple areas of the structure and moderate smoke.

Attack lines were advanced to the front of the home where much of the fire was knocked down from the exterior and then hose lines were advanced to the interior where fire crews attacked the fire. The fire was brought under control in approximately 15 minutes and was extinguished 30 minutes after arrival on scene.
 
The occupant stated that he had been awakened by a smoke detector and awoke to a large volume of fire on the first floor.

The fire department chaplain worked with the occupant to ensure he had lodging and assistance after the fire. The Bismarck Police Department provided traffic control and assistance to the fire department. Metro Area Ambulance was on scene to provide medical care if needed.

A preliminary damage estimate is $50,000.00. 21 fire personnel responded to the fire with 5 fire engines, 1 rescue truck and 1 Command vehicle. There were no injuries at this incident.

The fire is currently under investigation to determine the cause and origin.
