On Thursday, April 13, 2017, the Public Works Department will be installing a new traffic signal cabinet and controller at the intersection of Washington Street and Century Avenue. The existing traffic signal controller and cabinet are in place temporarily to operate the intersection as the permanent equipment was damaged as a result of a traffic accident.
This maintenance operation will require the traffic signal system to be shut down and operate as an all-way stop control. Stop signs will be in place. Traffic movements will be restricted. The traffic signal should be operational again by mid afternoon.
The roadway will remain open to traffic. Drivers are asked to reduce speed and use extreme caution near the work area.
Traffic is asked to seek alternate routes.
