The intersection of 7th Street and Broadway Avenue is now open to normal traffic.
At 12:39 P.M. Bismarck Police stopped a vehicle on the 100 block of North 7th Street. The officer recognized the driver and knew there were outstanding warrants for his arrest. During the vehicle stop the officer noticed what appeared to be the components of an explosive device.
The 100 block of North 7th Street was closed as a precaution until the vehicle could be thoroughly searched. The Bismarck Police Department Bomb Squad responded to the scene to assist in the search.
After the vehicle was searched and deemed safe, the intersection was re-opened to normal traffic.
Paul Fuhrman, 45, Bismarck was arrested on Burleigh and Morton County warrants, and possession of fireworks and taken to Burleigh County Detention Center.
