Minnesota’s Grammy winning alt rock outfit Soul Asylum heads the 2015 Fly Over Tour. Formed in the summer of 1981, their triple platinum “Grave Dancers Union” album spawned the hits “Somebody to Shove,” “Black Gold” and 1994’s Best Rock Song “Runaway Train.” Today the band consists of Dave Pirner, Michael Bland on drums, Winston Roye on bass and Justin Sharbono on guitar. They are currently putting the finishing touches on a new studio album to be released in 2015.

Only 19 years old, John Mark Nelson sings with a slow-smoked croon that belies his age, and he fills his lyrics with sharp, detailed observations of life and love in the Midwest. “Sings the Moon” is his most detailed, collaborative album of his young career. Members of Prince and Andrew Bird’s touring bands also appear on “Sings the Moon,” but Nelson is still the undisputed captain of this ship, steering his crew between intimate folk ballads and peppy, woodsy rave-ups with ease.

Minneapolis trio American Scarecrows’ first single, “Cheshire” off of their new album, Yesteryear (June 2014), best embodies the band’s current direction. The piece is a narrative masquerading as a pop song laced with fragile emotion and buoyancy of young love. The American Scarecrows’ songbook includes dynamic yet polished outcomes. Live on stage, the band showcases their earnest tales with crafty hooks and focused orchestrations.

Carnage The Executioner (Terrell Woods) is a hip-hop artist widely recognized for his mind-numbing lyrical dexterity and uncanny ability to compose musical symphonies with his mouth through beat boxing.

Tickets can be purchased at the Bismarck Event Center box office, by phone at (800) 745-3000 or ticketmaster.com.
