The Bismarck Police Department announces that it is conducting the annual bow hunting program. This occurs in the area around the Water Treatment Facility, archery range and the Horse arena and is running from Sept 3rd at 12:00 PM to Jan 31st at sundown.
During that time there will be hunters in those areas in an effort to reduce the city’s deer population. Citizens are asked not to allow their dogs to run loose in the area of the walking path along Riverwood Dr. and in the area of the Water Treatment facility land as they may run into an area where active hunting is occurring.
Dogs are prohibited from molesting or chasing wild game and are required to be leashed in city limits.
Residents in these areas may also notice hunters during this time period. If you have any questions please contact Melisa Hilsendeger at the Bismarck Police Department, Animal Control, 355-1910.
