BISMARCK, N.D. – The Bismarck Fire Department in partnership with Bismarck Public Schools (BPS) will conduct a fire rescue bus extrication exercise this week from Thursday through Saturday, August 21 – 23, 2014, at the Bismarck Transportation Building, 705 South 9th Street, Bismarck.
The Bismarck Public Schools Transportation Department will have its annual School Bus Inspection, Thursday, Aug. 21, 9-10 a.m., at the same location. The N.D. State Highway Patrol will make sure all of the buses are safe and in working order prior to school starting. BPS has the distinction of receiving a 100% rating for many years!
Firefighters using a battery of hydraulic tools and hand tools will cut through thick, mangled metal during the fire rescue bus extrication that, in many real life situations, stands between the life and death of vehicle crash victims.
