[ARCHIVED] Increased Tournament Traffic this Weekend

This weekend is the 35th Annual Sam McQuade Sr./Budweiser Charity Softball Tournament. This event is billed as the USA's largest non-profit, one weekend slow pitch softball tournament. Over 470 teams, 7,000 players and 20,000 family and fans will be involved.

With games being played at six softball complexes in Bismarck and Mandan on June 25-27, you can expect heavier than normal traffic this weekend. Watch for increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic, especially in the areas of the softball fields.

Many of the players, families and fans are from out of town, out of the state and even from outside our country. They may not be as familiar with our streets as we are so show our guests some courtesy and give them a little extra room too.

And wherever you go this weekend, and anytime for that matter, protect your property. Don’t leave valuables in your vehicle. Lock them securely in the trunk or better yet leave them locked up securely at home.

For more information contact Sergeant Mark Buschena, 355-1874.
