[ARCHIVED] Deadline Extended to Sept. 22 to Register For Disaster Aid

The deadline to register for disaster assistance has been extended to Sept. 22 for individuals and business owners in nine North Dakota counties and Spirit Lake Nation who suffered losses due to spring flooding.

The additional time allows North Dakotans in all declared areas more time to register for assistance.
People may register for assistance by calling FEMA's toll-free number, 1-800-621-3362 (FEMA) (TTY: 1-800-462-7585 for the hearing- or speech-impaired). The toll-free line is in operation from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (CDT) until further notice. Registration can be accomplished anytime at www.disasterassistance.gov or with a smart phone at m.fema.gov.

Calling any other local or state disaster hotline will not get you registered for FEMA assistance. For more information on state and federal assistance programs, or to update an application, call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362 (TTY: 1-800-462-7585).
