Stories and Songwriting with Chuck Suchy and Jessie Veeder
Saturday, January 8, 2022
Join us for an afternoon conversation with North Dakota folk musicians Chuck Suchy and Jessie Veeder. They will share the stories behind the songs, how they approach the songwriting process, and play pieces of some of their favorite tunes.
Chuck Suchy is one of the foremost musical voices of the American Great Plains. A working farmer in the blue hills along the Missouri River south of Mandan, Chuck writes, sings, and records songs evoking and extolling the Great Plains region and lifestyle.
Jessie Veeder has been a symbol of folk music in the badlands of Western North Dakota since she released her first original album, This Road, when she was only sixteen years old. Jessie's skill as a songwriter soars in songs that remain rooted in the stories of her Western North Dakota home.
