Green Card Youth Voices: Open House and Reading

Wednesday, August 16, 2017

Meeting Room A

Three student authors will read their narrative from the book "Green Card Youth Voices: Immigration Stories from a Fargo High School," and will answer questions about their journeys, their lives, their hopes, and their dreams. The book is a collection of 30 students’ immigrant stories and is designed to generate awareness about the immigrant experience. It provides young immigrants with a platform to tell their own narratives, in their own words. This event is free and is open to all ages. A book signing will follow the presentation, and books will be available for purchase. This book is a project of the Minneapolis-based nonprofit Green Card Voices which provides adult immigrants, and more recently, immigrants who are high school students, with a platform to share their personal stories concerning their journey to America.
