Computer Classes

The library offers a variety of several computer classes for our patrons.

Course Descriptions

Basic Genealogy Class


Covers the the basics of Ancestry Library Edition and World Vital Records databases. Class lasts 90 minutes. 
Prerequisite: Must be able to use a mouse and have basic typing skills.

Beginning Microsoft Word

Learn the basic functions of Microsoft Word and the computer keyboard. Look at business/holiday letters, resumes, envelopes, and labels.
Prerequisites: Each student must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, using the mouse and basic typing skills.

Computer & Internet Basics


Learn basic computer components and mouse skills. Practice searching skills and examine websites. Geared toward the very beginner. The class is free and lasts two hours. Register at the Information Desk.

Social Media Showcase


Introduces students to three of the most popular social media websites (Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest), some of the background behind them, and some of the basic tools and purposes for using each one. Class is free and lasts one hour. Register at the Information Desk.

Beginning E-mail


Learn how to send and receive mail. Look at folders, address books, junk mail preferences, and e-mail etiquette. You will have the option to set up your own free account. Class is free and lasts one hour. Register at the Information Desk.
